In Bangladesh as in some other parts of the world, acid attacks against women are a form of violence that is used too commonly to disfigure, maim, torture or kill. The impacts as I discovered in this work, have far reaching consequences well beyond the physical pain and disfigurement, with women suffering serious social, economic and psychological challenges as a result of the attacks. Fortunately there are a number of organizations out there committed to supporting them in overcoming these challenges and moving forward.
