I travelled to the Lower Omo Valley in the south of Ethiopia to try to understand some of the challenges facing the tribes down there whose ancient customs and livelihoods are being threatened by Ethiopias race to modernize. With the development of a new hydroelectric dam and vast tracts of domestic and foreign owned plantations sprouting up everywhere, the tribes, who rely on the land and the river for their survival, face a real threat to their survival. Despite the dam only being a third full, already one tribe, the Kwegu, are facing starvation.
