Dying for denim

On 24 April 2013, Rana Plaza – a building housing five garment factories – collapsed killing over 1,000 people, most of them women. The video above aims to show the extent of the tragedy – its impact on the families looking for their loved ones, the survivors of the collapse and the rescuers whose faces speak volumes… In the photos below you will also see images of hope. Hope because of the work being done to teach women about their workplace rights so that they can demand change in their industry and aim to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
